Cancellation and Refund Policy
This Cancellation and Refund Policy governs subscriptions to SwipeSynq, a software-as-a-service platform that integrates Shopify with supported point-of-sale payment terminals and related third-party services. By subscribing to or using SwipeSynq, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.
1. Free Trial
SwipeSynq may offer a 14-day free trial to eligible customers. The trial period begins when the customer activates the trial, as specified during registration.
No subscription fee is charged during the free trial. Customers may cancel their trial at any time without incurring a subscription fee.
If SwipeSynq introduces a trial that converts automatically into a paid subscription, the applicable billing terms, including the subscription price and billing start date, will be disclosed before the customer is charged.
At the end of a trial, access to paid features may require an active subscription.
2. Subscription Cancellation
Customers may cancel their SwipeSynq subscription at any time.
Cancellation requests must be submitted through the available subscription management or billing interface, or by contacting us at info@swipesynq.com | admin@theconnectiq.com.
A cancellation request will prevent future subscription renewals. Unless otherwise stated in the applicable subscription terms, cancellation will take effect at the end of the current paid billing period.
Customers may continue using the subscribed features until the end of that billing period, provided their account remains in good standing and the relevant third-party services remain available.
No additional recurring subscription fees will be charged after the cancellation becomes effective. Any outstanding fees incurred before cancellation remain payable.
If a subscription is billed through Shopify or another third-party billing provider, customers may also need to manage or confirm cancellation through that provider’s billing interface, where applicable.
3. Refund Policy
Subscription fees paid for SwipeSynq are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started. We do not ordinarily provide full or prorated refunds for unused subscription time, partial billing periods, or a customer’s decision to stop using the Service.
However, this policy does not exclude refunds or other remedies that are required by applicable law. We may also provide refunds in the following circumstances:
- Duplicate charges: Where the same subscription fee has been charged more than once in error, we will investigate and refund any verified duplicate charge.
- Incorrect billing: Where a customer has been charged an amount that was not properly due, we will investigate and correct the charge, including issuing a refund where appropriate.
- Material service failure: Where a substantial failure attributable to SwipeSynq prevents the customer from using a material part of the paid Service, we will investigate the issue and work towards a reasonable resolution. Depending on the circumstances, this may include a service credit, an extension, or a full or partial refund.
- Other legally required refunds: Where applicable law entitles a customer to a refund or another remedy, we will honour that entitlement.
A refund will not ordinarily be provided solely because a customer did not use the Service, changed their business requirements, or experienced an issue caused exclusively by an independent third-party provider.
4. Refund Requests
To request a refund, customers should email admin@theconnectiq.com | info@swipesynq.com with the following information:
- The account email address associated with SwipeSynq.
- The subscription or transaction reference, where available.
- The date and amount of the charge.
- A description of the reason for the refund request.
We will review the request and may ask for additional information to verify the transaction or investigate the reported issue.
We aim to respond to refund requests within five business days. If a refund is approved, it will ordinarily be processed through the original payment method or billing provider, where supported.
The time taken for the refunded amount to appear in the customer’s account may depend on the payment provider or financial institution.
5. Subscription Renewal and Billing
Subscriptions renew according to the billing frequency and terms disclosed at the time of purchase, unless cancelled before the applicable renewal.
Customers are responsible for reviewing their subscription details and ensuring that their billing information remains accurate.
If a customer believes that a renewal charge was made incorrectly, they should contact us promptly so that we can investigate.
6. Third-Party Services
SwipeSynq relies on third-party services and integrations, which may include Shopify, supported payment terminals, payment providers, and associated APIs.
Service interruptions, changes to third-party systems, account restrictions, or compatibility issues may affect the operation of SwipeSynq.
Where an issue is reported, we will assess the circumstances and determine an appropriate resolution. A third-party service issue does not automatically entitle a customer to a refund, but it also does not remove any refund or other rights available under applicable law.
7. Data Access Following Cancellation
Customers are responsible for exporting any information they wish to retain before their subscription ends.
Where technically feasible, SwipeSynq will make account data available for export for up to 30 days after the effective date of cancellation or termination, unless a different period is required by applicable law or communicated to the customer.
After this period, account data may be deleted in accordance with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
Customers should not rely on SwipeSynq as their sole permanent data backup.
8. Suspension and Termination
SwipeSynq may suspend or terminate access to the Service in accordance with its Terms of Service, including in cases of material breach, unlawful activity, security risks, or non-payment.
Where a suspension or termination results from a breach of the customer’s obligations, subscription fees already paid will not ordinarily be refunded, subject to applicable law and any specific contractual rights.
If SwipeSynq terminates a paid subscription without customer fault, or the customer terminates due to a material breach by SwipeSynq, any applicable refund or other remedy will be assessed in accordance with the Terms of Service and applicable law.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through our website, the Service, or email where appropriate.
The updated policy will state its effective date. Changes will not remove rights that customers have already acquired under applicable law.
