Privacy Policy
This policy describes how SwipeSynq (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with our application and services. It is provided to support transparency for merchants and app store requirements. It does not constitute legal advice; consult qualified counsel for your situation.
1. Who we are
SwipeSynq is a software application that connects to Shopify stores as described in our app listing. Our services are operated from the website and infrastructure associated with https://swipesynq.com.
For privacy-related questions, contact us at: admin@theconnectiq.com.
2. Scope
This policy applies to merchants who install or use our Shopify app, to users of our web application, and to information we process to provide, secure, and improve those services. It should be read together with Shopify’s own policies and the Shopify API License and Terms of Use.
3. Information we collect through Shopify
When you install and authorize the app, we may access or store data made available through Shopify’s APIs according to the permissions (scopes) you approve. Depending on your use of the app, this may include, for example:
- Shop and staff context: store domain (e.g.
*.myshopify.com), shop profile or settings fields exposed by Shopify, and identifiers needed to link your store to our service. - Orders and checkouts: information related to orders, draft orders, transactions, or payment status where needed to reconcile in-person or terminal payments with Shopify (as permitted by your configuration and scopes).
- Locations: location identifiers if the app uses them to route data to the correct store context.
We request only the API access required for the app’s described functionality.
4. Information we collect directly from merchants
- Account and contact data: such as name, email address, and credentials you provide when registering or signing in to our application.
- Configuration and operational data: settings you enter in the app, terminal or integration identifiers you supply, and similar technical inputs needed to operate the service.
- Support and communications: messages you send us and related metadata.
- Logs and security: we may generate server or application logs (for example access times, IP addresses, error diagnostics) to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
5. Information relating to buyers or end customers
Where our features process order or payment flows, we may handle limited personal data about buyers only as needed to perform the service you configured (for example order references, amounts, or payment metadata supplied by Shopify or your payment terminal provider). We do not use buyer data to sell unrelated advertising through this app.
If you use cookies or similar technologies on our marketing or app web surfaces, we use them in line with this policy and applicable law; adjust your browser settings if you wish to limit non-essential cookies.
6. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the app and integrations you enable;
- Authenticate users, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect security;
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests;
- Analyze aggregated or de-identified usage to improve reliability and performance.
We do not sell your personal information as a “sale” defined under U.S. state privacy laws in the traditional data-broker sense. We use subprocessors (such as hosting providers) strictly as needed to run the service.
7. Retention
We retain merchant and operational data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you uninstall the app or disconnect your store, we delete or anonymize store-linked data in line with Shopify’s mandatory processes (including responses to shop/redact and related webhooks). Some backup or log retention may persist for a limited period under our security and infrastructure practices.
8. Storage, transfers, and security
Data may be processed on servers in regions where we or our hosting providers operate. Where personal data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms where relevant).
We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for connections between clients and our services. Access to production systems is restricted on a need-to-know basis.
9. Shopify mandatory compliance webhooks
We implement Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks, including customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact, as described in Shopify’s documentation. We verify webhook authenticity using Shopify’s HMAC headers and respond as required.
10. Your rights and requests
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise rights or ask questions, contact us using the details in Section 1. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling requests.
11. Third parties
Our service integrates with Shopify and may integrate with payment or hardware partners you enable (for example terminal or payment networks). Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We encourage you to review Shopify’s documentation and any partner terms that apply to your stack.
12. Children
The app is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age where parental consent is required in your jurisdiction.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated through the app, by email, or as otherwise required by law.
14. Shopify App Store
If you installed the app from the Shopify App Store, this policy supplements information in our listing. The URL of this page is suitable to enter as the Privacy policy URL in your app listing, as required by Shopify App Store requirements.
